Our goal is to make as much of the Black Diamond range available to you as possible – at pricing as close to USA pricing as possible.

Due to the complexities of exchange rates, customs duties, shipping costs, season variations, varying supplier margins by category and product and shrinking margins due to competitor activity – it is not possible to make the entire range available to the South African market via the normal wholesale / retail model.

At the same time however, we are all part of a shrinking global market – and we want BD fans in Southern Africa to have easy access to as much of the range as possible; without being penalised on price.

To that end – the pricing of BD gear in South Africa is now based on USA retail pricing PLUS 15% VAT (we all have to pay it – it’s the right thing to do.) This means no extra charge for international shipping and no extra customs duties (like 45% for apparel or 30% for shoes) on your favourite kit!

At the same time – no one wants pricing to fluctuate as much as our exchange rate! Most of the gear will be based on a 6 month average exchange rate. We are able to achieve this by forward buying on USD. While this means that pricing will be fairly stable; there will be some variation off the direct conversion from the daily exchange rate – sometimes up & other times down. Our goal, however will be to keep this variation within 5%

So – no more need to place your order with your mate to bring back with him on his trip to the USA; or to buy from some European on-line discounter. You can get all the kit you need at no extra charge by supporting local!
