Throughout the year Black Diamond South Africa hosts and partners with running and climbing events across our beautiful country.
Trail Running
A fun and welcoming trail event designed for newcomers to the Magaliesberg and its stunning trails. As the first event in the series, this is a short and fun intro to what is to come.

- 31km – 6km Indigenous forest trail followed by 28km, pristine Mountain trails via Boosmansbos with
- 14km – A split between indigenous forest trails and lower mountain trails with splendid views over Saagkuilskloof and some of the other valleys below Boosmansbos.

A fun and flowy event with a 21km, 13km and 5km race. The routes are fast and fun with a few hills that might bite!

The Batrun is held annually in late February or March on an evening around the full moon for those who enjoy the magic of the mountain at night with a group of like-minded folks. Non-competitive, party-mood, good time to be had by all.

The toughest short course half marathon trail race in northern South Africa. The 21km features a massive 1800m+ ascent making it basically a ‘sky run’! The shorter events feature punchy climbs, enough for you to become familiar with heavy breathing.

The longest single race in the series, before the Harties Loop. Some might say a traditional race for the Magaliesberg… The 35km extreme is an iconic race of the mountain range, one not to be missed.

The North West’s (and a little of Gauteng’s) premier and only ultra trail running event. A tough 80km of ridges and valleys await all runners brave enough to run around the Hartbeespoort Dam in a single go – all on trail!

A gathering of all levels of climbers to share their skills, to learn from each other, and enjoy a weekend at the crag.
